A properly planned and executed Public Works program could have immense benefits to state.
Fixing the problem properly would employ 1,000's of jobs for years and brings millions into the regional economy. In replacing all the old pipes, do the roads at the same time. Fiber lines are required to be laid when roads are redone because the cost is negligible.
We bend over backwards to give tax breaks to bring in a couple hundred jobs at a factory or distribution center in the state. With all the attention, use the money and help that comes with that, to do something for the public good.
Why is investing in fixing Jackson a bad thing?
