We're now approaching six years since the release of Mirror's Edge Catalyst. Can you believe that? 6 YEARS. Let that sink in for a second.

A topic such as this has probably been posted several times before on this subreddit, but allow me to ignite the conversation once more. "When", "how", and the most terrifying option, "if ever", will we see Mirror's Edge return as a series? With the "issues" (and that's putting it very midly), surrounding EA and DICE, especially in regards to Battlefield 2042, it would appear that chances of any other series besides the typical namestays (FIFA, Apex, and Star Wars), are close to non existent when it comes to recieving love and attention. EA has officially even regarded the Battlefield series as not something that is among their primary focus/priority in terms of their library of franchises. If Battlefield is slowly being put behind the back burner, what probability is there that Mirror's Edge would be brought up to the front?

Catalyst didn't sell poorly, but it didn't do amazing either, and with EA's mentality of trying to make every game into a multi-million/billion dollar franchise within 10 years, Mirror's Edge's future is looking more than faint, as it was never a blockbuster game series and thus is being left as some sort of lost child (but it's EA we're talking about here, so should we really be surprised). While we all hope that Faith will run once more, I would love to know if you honestly think it will ever happen, and if so, when, and to what capacity? Will she make a grand return with a mainline game, or be regulated to smaller releases such as a title for mobile devices or game collaboration events?

This is also a good chance to mention what potential hopes and desires you want for the franchise as a whole. For it to be tackled by another studio or developer, if the stars align and Mirror's Edge is sold to another company such as Insomniac Games under Sony or Edios Montreal under Square Enix. Faith deserves better, on that we can all agree, but only time will tell if she'll what she rightfully deserves. I'm just afraid we'll be on the edge of this particular question for a very, very long time.

But hey, since it's EA, I'm more than certain that we'll get plenty of Mirror's Edge NFTs in the coming years, because that's what we all want as fans, right? 😮‍💨
