Can anyone do me a favour and look in the options for "GPU memory restriction"?

Youtube comment: it does affect fps, also gtx 970 in this test is running in /- ultra settings, not hyper because of the option "GPU memory restriction" which reduces details if you reach vram limit, this game on hyper uses 7,5gb vram

Don't have the game, can't check if the option exists or not.
