Ok early morning rant cuz I’m angry. Ok so I was just suggested a YouTube video with a long analysis of miraculous so I skimmed parts of it and a lot of it imo was WAYYY OFF for the most part (some were spot on in fairness). People psychoanalyze and analyze the actions of these characters as if they are adults and not children.
But they are literally 14
Yah Marinette and Adrian need to learn adult/social boundaries but we can see them slowly getting better because guess what, they’re 14 and learning !!!!!
Yah there def fake feminism in the show but that’s because 14 year olds in the 2010s are still learning what true feminism entails. Maybe by like 2070 we can inherently instill feminism in children. Yah there’s hyper masculinity, but 14 year olds are still learning what healthy masculinity is and maybe again by 2070 we can skip this step.
I got really annoyed and came here when Luka was called a Nice Guy and I’m like he’s 16 watching his sisters friends have petty drama. Why isn’t he sad Marinette doesn’t like him back, I’m not sure. But I know even today I have random crushes on people and if they don’t like me back I’m not too disappointed cuz like I didn’t really expect them too. His actions also have a level of protection? (I do think the writers forced a romance when he’s really more of a brotherly figure and they needed drama)
I’m just mad cuz I really feel like too many people review this show and treat the main cast as adults when we have to view them as children and then we can more accrual the critique the show. Thank you for reading this rant.
