Just switched to Mint and it feels like a huge mistake.
Post Body

Signs are not good.

I manage the phone accounts for me & my partner, and no longer wanted to pay an exorbitant fee to ATT&T. Fine; so I switch us to Mint. Honestly thought it would be more difficult to switch my partner's phone than to switch mine.

I bought them a new iPhone and successfully transferred them yesterday. Today, I thought, My turn.

I didn't buy a new phone - I have a S20 , which is unlocked, and it's fine and great and I really don't need anything else. I get the transfer code; fine. I try to activate the sim card via the Mint website - nothing but that fox in a rocket, endlessly loading. Okay, well, surely this can be sorted out - I call the number included in the activation email. and speak with a kind woman who, we both think, activates my SIM and confirms the number transfer.

I get a Sorry to See You Go text from AT&T, a Your Number Transferred Successfully email from Mint, an account update from AT&T closing my account; great, all as planned. Change the SIM, restart the phone, try to text my partner about dinner - surprise, Can't deliver the text. No texts are going out, nothing going in.

I call the phone number the text support gives me - I get some guy from T-Mobile who says they're celebrating a birthday in the office, can I try again later?

I start another text thread; This is beyond what I can do. I have escalated your issue to our tech department: Please allow up to 24 hours for a solution, they will email the email address provided with any developments.

So, I have no calling, no texting, and clients with whom I was supposed to speak this evening (I'm self-employed), and have no idea wtf happened, why, or when it'll be resolved. I am so, so tempted to run back to AT&T, but at this hour on the east coast, it would only result, I'm sure, in further delays.

Definitely feels like listening to friends' recommendations was a huge mistake.

Edit: spelling, grammar. Also, it's very fun how this immediately seems to have been downvoted, before any responses were received. Very helpful.

Edit 2: All set, finally! Took finding a two-year old post on a random forum and one helpful/lucky Mint tech support person (and eight hours), but the phone's functional, and I can move on with my day/life. Thanks for the help & advice.

Anyone reading this: If you contract business with your phone DO NOT USE a discount carrier, its not worth it. Sorry for your issues.
