Hotspot limit for 15gb plan?

I've searched in this subreddit and it seems that if you're on anything other than the unlimited plan, you can use all of your available data for hotspot. Is that correct/still accurate? The reason I am asking is that I was just on the phone with a customer service rep who stated that the limit is 5gb of hotspot regardless of what plan you are on.
