Minoxidil for receding hairline?

I just bought a ton of minoxidil (as my dermatologist recommended) for a receding hairline only, top of the scalp is still strong. On the box is says it’s only for the top of the scalp. Has anyone had success using it to stop a receding hairline? Thanks
