Locking the comment section on your promoted thread is exactly the same to me as those "debates" and "town halls" with vetted questions and only rabid supporters. If you can't handle a comment thread on Reddit why would I think you could handle the reigns of power in any way, shape, or form? Also, if you wanted to prove to me you where different or in some way distinguish yourself from the standard 2 party people this was definitely not the way to go about it.
