Hi! I’m getting back into mini painting for D&D after a while out of the hobby. My DM prints minis and I paint them, together we have a collection of a lot of stuff that I find fun and interesting to paint.
Today she gave me 30 skeletons in leather armour to paint up for a few sessions time and I can’t find the motivation. I find painting leather and basic armour really kind of dull and I’m wondering how you all make these things more interesting for yourself.
I’m my head all I can see is these skeletons coming out in various shades of brown and I just can’t bring myself to make a start on them. I find basic infantry the most dull in general because there’s always so many bits, boots, belts etc and it all feels like I have to default to standard boring brown, black and grey colours. Would love to hear your thoughts on how to jazz it up a bit, both visually without looking silly and to make it more interesting for myself as I go!
