Dirty down rust tips, color variations?

So here's some pictures using dirty down rust over various colors. Mostly brown primer, I used some blue and green and gun metal silver. Also the rust turns orange when I add water and mix it up. I really like the brown undercoat but want some other ways to add a little more color variation in the actual browns. Any tips?
