Tips or tools for small-scale water effects?

Post Body

Hi all I'm looking to add some small areas of water effects to the basing of a handful or miniatures I have. I've seen resin being used but that seems like a lot of equipment, hassle, and room for error to create water effects - especially when I think just a few puddles would do the trick.

Has anyone got any tips or tools/equipment recommendations? I'm unsure if I want to add just small puddles to the bases or maybe go as far as to create slightly deeper water that the models are marginally submerged in (as they're models of basically swamp monsters) but could use spme advice.

Based in the UK too as that'll naturally determine what stores I can actually order from and not have to worry about crazy shipping costs

Thanks!
