I have a fair amount of experience (6yrs) on most size excavators upto 30T and done a variety of work, Excavator mulching tree work house pads bulking out loading site cuts etc. No gps yet.

My question is how to get into a mining role, seems like there are lots of jobs but require minimum 2 yearโs experience on Libehrs or Ex1200 or ex3600 or similar..
How do i get started? do you have to take another job and work your way up?
As another commenter suggested, try emailing some of the smaller contractors who do more civil work around sites and you'll probably get poached if you show off some mad digging skills.
Contractors tend to run some small and some larger equipment which would give you a transition to the sticks on a bigger girl.
