I'm sure it's not a "better" experience for everyone, depending on what your goals are. But removing the front page and the various rabbit holes it offers does make using Reddit feel more serene and intentional.
Instead of mindless browsing, you have to manually visit the subreddits you want to visit and your attention doesn't get grabbed by posts that don't align with what you are looking to do with the Internet at this particular moment.
I think I like it.
