I'm really not sure what's making this happen. Yes, you're running Orebfuscator. No, I've never seen this happen on any other server running Orebfuscator. Something must be configured really strangely.
It's pretty obnoxious. When it's a whole wall, it's pretty obvious they're fake, but sometimes the only thing exposed will be some diamonds. I'll get all excited, and then...awwwww, fake. It's happened quite a few times.
