A quick update on the poll results
Post Body

So, we've closed the polls and have been looking over the results. /u/plotcitizen is working on aggregating the data, but until then I thought I'd give you a brief overview of what came out of the poll.

Note that I'm only going to give/comment on the numbers from multiple choice sections. Once we've had more time to work with the data, we'll provide information on the open-ended questions. Any "other" responses are included with open-ended responses.

Also note that these numbers may change slightly as we weed out spam responses.

Also also note: I started this on Wednesday before I had to go in to work, and I've since come down with a nasty cold, so my summation gets a bit less witty and coherent towards the end.

Map

The poll shows a preference for a custom map, with 66.7% in favor of a custom map, 20.4% in favor of a vanilla map, and 12.9% "other" responses.

The numbers are similar for people who want more custom content, like custom trees, structures, loot, biomes, etc., and for having custom nether/end dimensions.

The majority of players seem to want a larger map, with 88.2% of players voting for map sizes above 2000 blocks from origin (4000 blocks square). Of these responses, 2001-3000 is the most favored size, with 41.9% of the vote.

Block Protection

The majority of players (59.1%) favor having some sort of protection, with 29% opposed to protection and 11.8% not having a preference.

Players tended to be more satisfied with blocksaver before the nerf.

Most players tend to be builders, explorers, city inhabitants, underground inhabitants, etc. Only 17.2% of respondents claimed to be griefers.

The majority of players (55%) are satisfied with the protection provided by blocksaver, with 33.3% thinking too much protection is provided, and 10.8% thinking too little is provided.

Half of respondents think that the cost of using blocksaver is too high, with 42% thinking the cost is worth it, and 8% thinking it is too cheap.

About 2/3rds of players do not want to remove blocksaver without any other form of protection, and about a third is in favor.

50.5% of players favor replacing blocksaver with a better protection method, and 49.5% are against.

Other Issues

49.5% are against the current replacement of tab list with the /list command, with 35% for and 15% "other" responses.

63% are for current custom monster spawning rates and buffs, with 25% against and 12% other.

For Zombie Pigmen, Guardians, and Killer Rabbits, players greatly favor (75-80%) enabling them.

It's a 50-50 split on breakable spawners, with people favoring breaking spawners not agreeing on how they should be breakable.

Players are in favor of keeping the ender dragon respawnable, with only 3.2% against respawning the dragon. The most popular response for how it could respond is by a special player action.

76% are in favor of the dragon not naturally despawning.

Players are a bit over 2/3rds in favor of the dragon dropping an egg after every kill.

Players are a bit under 2/3rds in favor of being able to push other players.

Players are 80% in favor of /unstuck and craftable and usable enderchests.

Players are a bit above 2/3rds in favor of being able to skip the night if every player on the server is sleeping in a bed.

Players are 72% against animal starvation.
