Boats should have a slot for armor just like horses. Oh and a slot for banners too.

Boat issues aside it would be great to be able to ironclad your boat with armor to give it more durability (hearts). The boat armor could even be enchanted to give speed boosts or more health.
Adding a slot for banners would be a great touch too.
