Is this slide safe to shoot?

I have a 1980’s production GI slide that I usually take to the range. I picked up this 1937 dated Colt slide to go with my 1924 Colt frame (with an interesting and obvious story) that I mount for display. Is this swap needed or is it heat treated properly?
