Working in the mines:
Post Body

I recently applied for a job throughout Newmont Mining in Thunderbay Ontario. I have zero experience as a milwright this would be a complete apprenticeship program.

I was selected for an interview and if I am successful I have to write the aptitude test. It consists of 14 days on 14 days off fly in and fly out. My questions are if all goes well what are the Working conditions in a mine like?. I have lots of hands on experience Plumbing,Electrical, Framing and mechanical experience with operating heavy machinery I.e Snowplows and bobcats minimal maintenance like maintaining fluids, torching ceased bolts off, wrenches and phenematic tools. What's a decent pay for an Apprentice?. If you do complete a apprenticeship What's a top dollar for a Millwright. I am 32 and looking to make a career change kinda tired of the Municipality I work for its not hands on enough and I want to obtain a red-seal for my own benefit.
