Brand new $175 dehumidifier dead from flooded basement.

Last night I fired up a brand new dehumidifier for my basement. Went down just now to check and see how it's doing and was greeted by a flooded basement. Needless to say my dehumidifier didn't do a very good job. Turns out the sump pump I installed 11 months ago failed at some point today. So basement flooded and fried my dehumidifier less than 24 hours after plugging it in.
