Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the MikroTik world and am looking for some options for an outdoor WAP to be bundled with a deploy-able PC to create a local LAN for field use. I'm looking for something compact that can cover a small parking lot, around 200ft maximum. I'm looking for something that I can program up once and forget about it. Clients have large antennas, so not as concerned about distance as I would be if they were cellphones or something small.
Essentially this kit will be shipped out to a non-technical end-user. They will follow a picture guide to plug everything in, turn on the PC and then I can remote in through the wireless interface and run what I need to out the Ethernet interface into a WAP that will provide DHCP to all connected devices so that I can program and modify them as necessary. I only need 2.4Ghz N.
It's pretty basic, but there are a lot of options with MikroTik. I need to keep costs down and I feel MikroTik would work well for this and be durable/resilient enough, but cheap to replace if something happens. I figure it best to post here and get some feedback from people who use the devices. Happy to look at other alternatives as well if you have other recommendations.
