One of the first things to go when I have a migraine, even before the pain hits full force, is my higher functioning. I get very stupid, very fast. So I have lists of what to do pasted everywhere, because when a migraine strikes I literally forget how to manage them.
On the fridge, I have a list of what to do when a migraine is starting. It's very basic and in big comic sans: take a sumatriptan.
And then in smaller letters are lists of other things to try and meds to help.
I have a med case attached to my key ring with sumatriptan in it. On the glove box I have a sticker with steps I take when a migraine starts, and a phone number or two for family who might come and drive me home if it's that bad. Another sticker are things to try ( like drinking a slushy super fast) that sometimes helps.
I have a list in my wallet, by my bed, and by the computer.
If the stupids are a symptom of your migraine, lists might help.
