I have been on Depakote for well over 5 years. I was taking 500mg twice a day. I self lowered to once a day this past year because I would forget to take it (my dad passed in Jan from unexpected suicide and I have really bad anxiety and prob depression before that) (I took too many naps and would forget to take any of my morning pills.
Anyways. I was doing good at one pill a day and then I discussed with my mom and realized I was only taking it once a day and I said I would start to take it as prescribed.
I developed a headache while working a morning shift on 1-1-23. I got a massage of my upper back and head (I had found a flat spot on my head that felt bruised kinda painful and had it noticeable for a month) the massage got the flat spot to feel a lot better. Had minor dark circles under my eyes the next day. That and the nose spray sumatriptan didnāt help so after 12 hours of the headache I went in to the er because I also had minor nausea, off and on light/sound sensitivity, neck pain, and dizziness. They gave me a bunch of meds via IV and Reglan was the one that helped the most. I went home around 5-6 pm and went straight to sleep. At 3am I woke up and everything was back. I self medicated at home incase it was a sinus infection (including prednisone), if was really bad anxiety trying to force me to be in bed asleep, I even used weed when I knew I had no where to go, plus I tried ice and heat. I had the one year of my dad passing from suicide in that time and had thought maybe I would feel better after if itās anxiety. Itās now 5 days later and nothing helped, I went back to the ER. Head CT is normal. They didnāt notice the flat spot, my sinus look clear and fine. I was sent home after getting Zofran, fluids, and Tylenol. I was told āfollow up with a Neurologistā Time to fight insurance and hope I donāt miss work till I get in. I changed insurance this past year as I aged off my parents plan and am not happy with the state insurance but canāt afford to buy a better plan. If thereās any suggestions on self remedy or diet changes to make to help Iām open
