Turning off Automatic Updates

Post Body

Hi everyone,

I've got an older laptop that still meets all of my needs. Its running windows 10 home. (Laptop is from 2012) however, windows keeps trying to update it, and it is (obviously) unable to update to Windows 11. Is there a way to permanently turn off updates? It only tries to update when I connect to the internet, and have to force stop Windows Update using the "services" application. When it is running, my computer essentially freezes and I cannot use it. Tried to update it but it would get half way through the update before freezing completely and would not install the update.

I am not looking to physically upgrade my computer at this time. I realize that it is old.

Any help would be appreciated
