Scorpion tail bug in the runner game: has anyone else experienced this?

This has happened to me 4 or 5 times now. If you land towards the very back of the scorpion on level 2 at a certain angle you die.
It feels like this is probably a bug because it's super inconsistent. Wanted to bring this to dev's attention because it's pretty frustrating dying to something that feels a little bit like raw chance.
Anyone else had this happen?
