Switching to LED from Metal halides advise?

Post Body

Currently have a 600W metal halide light running in a 2'x3'x53" grow tent with plenty of ventilation.

I am about 2 months into my first grow and things are going well as far as I can tell.

Plenty of ventilation on a temp controller to keep the temp between 25-30C.

I definitely bought my bulb with a larger set up in mind but size constraints in my desired grow space limited my tent size and I just set it up as is and watched for any signs of stress for a few days then stopped worrying.

After researching the 600W definitely seems overkill (google told me 200W was more appropriate). I can go get a new bulb since my ballast is adjustable but I was wondering if this was a good opportunity to switch to LED. So many growers here seem to be on LED and there do not seem to be too many checks in the metal halide column for pros.

I didn't go that direction earlier since i had a ballast already which kept my costs down going MH. But since I am more established now it might be worth it long run in terms of energy savings.

Anyways is there much reason to stay with a MH setup?

Is a 200W LED powerful enough for my tent or should i pay a little more for a larger one since I am still saving on energy costs?

Is an LED as good as the MH/HPS setup for a full grow? I guess what I am going for is if all other things where equal would an LED grow give x% difference in yield compared to an MH/HPS grow? Maybe this is a hotly contested topic but I could not really find an answer to this online.

Anyways I will appreciate any help :)

Oh and as for plant I essentially plan to maximize the space in there to grow to more light the better imo for whats appropriate.
