Giving a grow presentation at a Cannabis College, What are some things you wished you had known when you started growing

So, I got out the Navy(honorable discharge/End of term) and landed my dream job of teaching people how to grow medical quality cannabis, all over the country.

My question is to the other growers who've been around the block, tried things that didn't work, and know their stuff. What are a couple things you wish someone would have told you when you started growing? basic kind of stuff, or little tips and tricks from along the way. I'm just looking for little things to add to my presentation and stuff. Thanks
