Seedlings yellow every time (Nectar)

Post Body

Hi folks. I am a new grower and started around end of November 2022. The guy I am learning from grows awesome organic buds using Nectar for the Gods line.

Me being new and not researching led to me buying an entire grow setup and a package of NFTG nutrients and NFTG soil #4 for organic grows from this guy.

So far I have had around 15 seedlings die since November, on my 3rd attempt trying to grow. I have never grown a plant in my life beside maintaining the ol snake plant, money tree, and succulents.

Yet AGAIN I have seedlings turning yellow, after getting their first set of true leaves. The cot leaves have turned totally yellow. I spend my free time reading and researching, and I have 2 bio degrees so a lot of the soil biology concepts aren't new to me.

I feel I have invested so much time and money in this organic idea, while I'm seeing people post their first grows with synthetics and hydro actually getting results. My dad and gf's dad grew back in the day and all they did was pop a seed in soil, meanwhile I can't get seedlings to live. As you can imagine I am almost $1 grand in the hole when I just wanted to start this as a way to get cheaper medication than from the price-gouging dispensaries.

So now I'm dumbfounded as to why I can't get a plant to grow. I know I overwatered starting out, but I think I have learned to check for soil dryness and water when needed (every 1-2 days; approx 350ml for 1gal pot)

  • 3x3 AC Infinity tent
  • AC Infinity 4in exhaust fan
  • 2 ac fans to create air circulation
  • Temp ranges from 68-80F.
  • Humidity ranges from 45-65%, but I try to keep it around 60%
  • Ks2500 viparspectra light (~400ppfd reading) -humidifier to maintain humidity
  • 1gal fabric pots
  • tap water is ~8 ph ; I dechlorinate for 24hrs and lower ph using Gaia mania. According to the town there is no chloramine. Base ppm is ~300
  • slurry test is about 6.95ph (I didn't get the ppm yet as I didn't have the TDS meter until a couple days ago)

Last week I mixed up some soil with Bigfoot mycorrhyzae, herc harvest, Gaia mania to feed the soil. I used that soil as a top dress on my plants last night while watering, hoping the seedlings bounce back.

Is something wrong with my soil? I'm getting super discouraged and while my contact knows a lot about organic growing he doesn't have an answer as to what's going wrong. Should I ditch organic as a beginner?
