Is it possible for coliforms to not produce observable gas in BGLB, and EC Broth?
Post Body

Did a water coliform test using LSTB tubes, then confirmed the test with BGLB and EC Broth tubes. The final step was streaking on EMB Agar. All LSTB tubes from the sample became turbid and effervescent. Got loops from these tubes and transferred them into BGLB and EC Broth tubes. The BGLB and EC Broth also became turbid, but no effervescence was observed. When streaked on EMB agar, red/pinkish colonies were found. Some had streaks of a metallic green sheen
