I was invited by my country's chapter to the International Biology Olympiad. I only have BS degree and I'm still finishing my MS. I think I'm decent with microbiology but not extraordinary. All I know are the fundamentals. I picked up some nuance techniques that you won't normally find in a lab manual or textbook, but I know that others who have at least the same lab experience as I do also know the same or similar techniques. I'm sure many of you also know those nuance techniques since I got some of them from the members here. I'm inclined to turn down the invitation and suggest others who I believe have more experience and skills than I do, like the PhDs or experienced MSs at my university.
I guess the only things that make my teaching skills unique is my personality and public speaking skills. I'm a millennial, but I have Gen Z traits, and the participants of the workshop will be Gen Z. I also like speaking in front if I have prep time.
What do you think? Am I getting my impostor syndrome the better of me? Or should go for it?
