I've tried Dead Cells, A Robot Named Fight, and Weapon Hacker and so far Weapon Hacker is the one that's felt the most Metroidvania-like to me. What roguelikes have you all played and enjoyed that also scratch that Metroidvania itch?
Side note, it's always really funny when people ask for Metroidvania recommendations and specify "no roguelikes", when even stretching the definition there's only a tiny handful of them.
A Robot Named Fight is rather great in being a genuine MV experience in each playthrough, although admittedly there isn't that much variety in the early game and there's no real signposting so you can end up going through the same small handful of rooms plenty of times.
