Saving during NG+ & Ranger Hardcore?

I recently started a new game plus with a ranger hardcore difficulty, but I can’t seem to manually save. Im pretty sure I didn’t enable iron mode, so I’m not sure if this is inherent to Ranger Hardcore. I don’t wanna have to restart, but don’t think I can go without manual saves since I don’t like the limited frequency of auto saves (especially after collecting a bunch and then dying, and having to redo it again). Anyone know if ranger hardcore prevents manual save, or must I have accidnelty enabled iron mode?
