Moscow: 8/10 - Kinda wished it was more mutant based but I guess they needed a decent reason to leave Moscow. Also kinda cool that you find out Moscow is in hiding and that.
Volga: 6/10 - It was cool for some parts but like 1/4 of it was boring.. In 2033 I was completely in the zone throughout the missions pretty much and a few parts in Volga I just got bored of going around
Yamantau: 6.5/10 - Was horribly obvious something dodgy was going on before we got there. It was kinda cool though fighting those cannibals off. It was super frustrating in hardcore mode for me. At this point, I just wanted to play in the cold ass areas of Moscow :(
Caspian Sea 7.5 - Strangely enjoyed this even though I wanted to play in the areas similar to the cold pits. I feel like It was more engaging than Volga
Taiga 2/10 - Just didn't enjoy it at all. I feel like this could've been something so much better. Wasnt a fan of the scenery or story. Where was the Metro game I fell in love within 2010 when I was 12?
Dead city 8/10 - Reckon it could've been a 9.5/10 for me if they scrapped Taiga and made it into a long-ass dead city arc. It was like experiencing the depths of hell in some parts. Wasn't a fan of those swimming eel things and those wall slugs I thought those bits were kinda lame - they could have recreated thrilling moments like in 2033 where you were in that kart when you pass out and wake up to loads of mutants chasing you or in Last light when you were on that train by yourself whilst being chased by those fuckers if I can remember correctly.
I think it would've been better if they focused less on the open world and put more into the story as it did feel kinda short. What do you think? Did you like the Taiga section?
