I've been sober for quite awhile now.
I've seen a lot of posts with people being confused, wanting to quit but needing that push to go through with it. I'm hoping some of yall can share the benefits of quitting and what its done for your life.
It was a very slow process for me at the start, hanging for more as time went on. And the process of forgetting about it (tbh can't completely forget about it) is very slow.
Me and my family have never been closer, I moved back in with my parents despite being 20 years old. I started off by slouching around, doing nothing. Now, I've got my drivers licence, getting a job on a mine site thanks to my Father.
I wanted to be happy, without the drugs, be happy with my family and making something of my life. It's such a slow process to start with, but within honesty I can truly say I've beat it.
What helped me realise I didn't need it to be happy; I was homeless, during the day if none of my friends were wanting to hang out I'd sit at parks and just watch people kick a ball around, I'd see parents walking with their kids, laughing and having a genuine great time. It's obvious they weren't on anything, they were high on life.
I wanted that, and I knew I needed to make changes. I'm so happy I did, couldn't be prouder of myself too.
If anyone has any stories or share the benefits they can see in their lives, go ahead and share because I hope there's some others who'll need to hear it from others to understand that your life will change only for the better after choosing to choose life instead of meth.
