I've stayed at many hotels this past year and I do have some tips and tricks for the hotel user lol. I'll include reference links at the end of the post. Hotel walls are thin and some of y'all even hear the government and shadow people in the walls. So, let's help eachothers anxiety, paranoia, and legal issues.

♡ Fire Alarms: Some hotels especially the non budget saver options will charge you anywhere between $200-$400 if the fire alarm gets set off by your smoking. Save yourself some time and money by taking a plastic bag and wrapping it around the smoke detector. You can use a hair tie to secure the bag to the device or you can tie it around the device. Don't forget to remove it when you leave.

♡ Quiet Room Request: When checking in or calling ahead to check for availability you can request a quiet room. These are the rooms at the end of the hallways that only have one neighbor. Just say you work x amount of hours for whatever shift and voila! Quiet rooms are usually always available.

♡ Do Not Disturb: Always use a do not disturb sign that comes with all hotels. This way you don't get any surprise visits from the housekeeping staff. You can additionally call down to the hotel front desk and tell them you want a quiet stay with no interruptions because you just got off work. Don't give away your position though!

♡ Spray: Always remember to bring some smoke odor spray. They have special sprays out there that can tackle smoke odors and they work extremely well. Just one small spray and it covers up anything remotely close to smoke odor. They sanitize and remove all smoke smells. References below

♡ Candle: Candles that eliminate smoke also work out very well. Not as strong as the sprays that tackle the smoke odors head first but I find the candle sprays to last longer. Plus you can use the lit candle to eliminate the noise from your lighter flicking. References below

♡ Silent Torch: I have searched far and wide for a silent torch and finally I found one. It's called the Johnni B One Touch 3 flame torch. It comes In 8 colors. I will never ever use another lighter as this one has saved my trauma from the loud ass click noise or flicking of lighters. These are refillable with butane. It uses an electric start(3 very light clicking noises) so you do have to charge and refill these. Reference below

♡ Smoke Air filters & Purifiers: Buy portable Air Purifier that you can bring with you. They have sizes that range from car size to whole house sizes. You can always add essential oils to aid with the smoke smell. Secondly, the more affordable option would be a personal air filter that you blow into. Think of the ones we used to use with a toilet paper roll and dryer sheets except even better. References below

♡ Damp Towel: Don't forget to dampen a towel and cram the door crack at the bottom of the front door. It needs to be damp so it can catch the smoke. Don't forget to change it out though or it can get stinky I'm sure of it.

♡ Peep Hole: Take some toilet paper and block the eye hole on the door

♡ AC Unit: Turn up that AC unit to the best if your abilities. This covers up a lot of noise like if your chugging some hits from a bong or a lighter click while making the smoke thin out and disappear

♡ Suite Upgrade: You might not know this but when you stay at a hotel you can ask for a room upgrade to a suite. This does not cost anything and the rooms are much nicer. Just ask while you check in for a free suite upgrade to get you as far as possible from that front door. Hotels like La Quinta are usually nice about it and upgrade you up to a suite putting a whole living room section between your bedroom and the front door.

♡ TV: Turn on your TV between 12-14 to block out any other additional noise

♡ Close The Curtains: I didn't think I needed to explain this one but recently my friend was smoking in his room at the desk inside of a hotel and no joke, someone outside of the hotel saw him and reported him to the front desk. Close those curtains!
