Keeping r/meth a viable sub/community for harm reduction on Reddit
Post Body

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE MEMBERS OF r/meth 😁

First let me say that I’m not directly speaking for the admin or the moderators of this r/meth sub or for Reddit. We have not had a meeting (r/meth) and I wasn’t chosen by our collective group to speak about this. However I am speaking for the greater good of the sub itself. So I don’t imagine the collective group of t/meth will disagree with what I have to say….

We value our community and its members more than some of you might imagine. An those who don’t see it that way are opinions to be expected. But they usually act as the catalyst to speak out negatively for the ones that aren’t abiding by the rules. Those days are numbered.

The # four , #six and #eight largest drug oriented subs on Reddit have been permanently shut down. Now there are plenty of resources out there for anybody that wants to know why and learn the details of that. I am not here to propagate the rumor mill. Nor am I posting this to discuss the details.

One of those groups was methwithoutcommunism. I specifically make mention of them because of the unruly amount of trash they talked about this sub and their blatant disregard to Reddits policies. A lot of that trash talk came from members that were banned from here for blatantly disregarding the rules that Reddit an this sub had put in place. In truth, it’s expected when you’re one of the largest subs in this category. If not the largest. We bost over 200,000 members. Jealousy is a ugly thing. But so is ignorance. We value every member of this community. But we value the communities purpose equally if not more. An we respect the platform we’re on. Which would be Reddit. If it wasn’t for Reddit none of this would exist. So not only are there rules for this sub that is mandated by us the admin and moderators but we also have to abide by Reddit’s policy procedure and rules. So that’s exactly what we’re going to continue to do. Which is exactly what these other subs did not do. Now they are permanently shut down. So this is a public announcement and a friendly reminder of the role that you play in being part of one of the largest subs on Reddit. But do not for a moment think that we are special. Which brings me to the whole reason why I am making this post.

If you are caught sourcing in anyway shape or form you’re done. If you are caught disregarding any of the rules and you have a history doing it. You are gone. Not only that you will be reported to Reddit which could lead to a banning from the platform as a whole. Definitely not speaking for them (Reddit) Just giving you an idea of how important it is for you be aware of the rules and what you can potentially expect if you don’t adhere to them. With that said…this is not a threat at all. This is my way of trying to preserve and keep this community thriving. It is also an attempt to give the self entitled, better than the rest of us, I can do what I want users a fair chance to change their way of thinking so they can remain a part of community. But this is an absolute zero tolerance sub from this point forward. There are new ways to monitor and there is a rejuvenated effort from the team of admin and moderators within r/meth to weed out any of those that think they are above the rules. These rules are put in place for a reason and that reason is to maintain this communities integrity and allow a point of congregation for those who can identify and have similar interest in the content this sub offers. Some of you are gonna read into this however you want and that’s fine. Speaking only for myself. Your prerogative to disagree will not change my prerogative. Which is to maintain the foundational integrity of this community for its intended purpose of providing harm reduction and debunking the harmful misinformation that surrounds the context of this special interest sub and lifestyle. I can say this, I know we (r/meth) appreciate every member and we want to keep every member as we continue to grow. The last thing we want to do is decrease our member base. But what’s equally as important is to abide by our hosts (Reddit) rules and keep r/meth a viable sub. .

Thank you for reading But more to the point , thank you for being a part of this community and offering positive input for the fellow members that you are associated with.

This is not a Q n A post. No one here (r/meth) is in the position to field question pertaining to the shut down subs or Reddits stance or opinions about this matter. Nothing really has changed here accept a tighter reign on those that choose to ignore the rules of Reddit and this sub.
