Can you stop with it around the house

Anyone of you able to stop, and stay stopped for an extended period (weeks/months) with it still in the house and easily accessible. Or do you need to get rid of it to have any real chance of taking a break from it? Me: I know flushing it is the only way I'm going to stop and stay stopped.
