IV drug use is one of the worst things to get addicted to. I've gotten cellulitis and septecemia, I almost died and I'm only 19. Ice is the worst on your veins.
With that being said, I still do it. The feeling of it running up your veins, the slight burn going all the way up your arm running its way to your heart.
The dopamine release when you see that blood trickle in, knowing what's coming next. Especially if you've been struggling to find a vein.
And when it finally goes in, you can just feel it kicking in before you're even done. And by the time you pull the needle out, your heart is racing 120 , you can feels the blood pressure behind your eyes, and your body feels warm and good.
For those brief moments after the world almost seems perfect. Not in the sense that it's literally perfect, just that it could be hell around you and you'd still feel indifferent to it. Content, at peace, despite the fact that your body and brain are running at 100mph.
You guys know that feeling?
