Swollen ankles for days

Here recently my ankles have been so swollen, at the end of the day when I get home from work, there're so bad that it's painful af. I've slowed down smoking a lot, have been drinking a lot of water, increased the amount of sleep i get but it just doesn't seem to do anything. I'm getting hella worried...any suggestions????
