Story time!!!!

So I went into work early to train the new guy I hired and everything went really well. He’s a quick learner, motivated (as motivated as you can be to work at a pizza joint) basically he was an all around decent hire. Around 8 PM I send him on break and he goes out the back door to the dumpsters (it’s the unofficial smoking spot) I just going to go smoke which is perfectly in his right to do so I stay inside and continue working. 20 minutes goes by and HR wanting a copy of his Social Security card so I go out and ask for it as soon as he sees me he tries to stash an all too familiar glass item in his pocket ( mans was smoking a bubble 😂😂😂) so I play it cool not wanting him to know that his boss is a so I play it cool not wanting him to know that his boss is a Tweaker yet fellow Tweaker yet and we go about our night.

Fast forward to closing time. I tell him to count his drawer down with fast forward to closing time. I tell him to count his drawer down and hands me his till sheet. And rushes to the front clock out and leaves in a hurry. Honestly, just figured he was in a rush to finish his bubble, but h to finish his bubble, but he was smoking on that he was smoking on his break. Until I see the tail sheet and it reads $20 (all drawers are supposed to be $100 and $500 in the safe at the end of the night) so I call him and he starts begging for his job and giving me the old “ I’m a recovering addict and I made a mistake. I’m so sorry. I had to I told him “I had to think on it and hung up”.

I went from excited to so much disappointment. honestly at a loss because I feel the whole story the people I have to I’m some kind of hypocrite because I’m guilty of smoking so much in that store and I can’t lie. I was a little bit excited to have a potential “bubble buddie”. I guess it’s time to roll a bowl and ponder for a spell🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
