The tune is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of music theory most of the riffs will go over a typical listener's head. There’s also black metal's satanic outlook, which is deftly woven into its lyrics- the satanic philosophy draws heavily from pagan literature, for instance. The elitists understand this stuff; they have the intellectual trveness to trvly appreciate the depths of these riffs, to realise that they’re not just kvlt- they say something deep about darkness. As a consequence people who dislike black metal truly ARE posers- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the shrieking vocals in Burzum's atmospheric song “Dunkelheit,” which itself is a cryptic song about darkness. I’m frowning right now just imagining one of those loser scene kids covering their ears in confusion as Horgh's blast beats blitzkrieg on their tape players. What vvimps.. how I pity them. 😂
