Do you ever have riff ideas that are too technically challenging for you to play well and/or record?
Post Body

I'm recording my own work and I find that I sometimes come up with riff ideas in my head, and as I translate them to the guitar and try to record them, the riffs are very difficult for me to get down well for the recording. This is especially the case with soloing and less so for rhythm sections. Does this happen to you or do you find the Idea > Guitar > Playing/Recording pipeline different or more straightforward? How long does it take you to get down some of these riffs?

I guess it's like my mind thinks I'm better at guitar than I actually am
