The design isn't broken and if you were to make it seemless, I don't think it would really break anything, but it would make something, that isn't broken, be more work than its worth. I think a lot of fans want the gameplay and structure of the game to be the same vs. changing things for the sake of changing it. This can cause what's being dubbed "enshittification" among software developers and app users.
I don't think this game really needs a change in structure, but more just an update in menu systems and control scheme, which seems to be the case in this remake.
There are some things in Delta that sill irk me, like the animations seemingly very stiff and the it seems like they got rid of the stalking mechanic. Other than that, I am really digging the new updates to the menu (like changing camo with the D-PAD) and a more modern CQC, but I need to get my hands on it to really judge otherwise.
