What modern years should I avoid/ consider when in the market for preowned Benz?
I am new to MB but recently got my first (SL450 R231 post face lift) and am obsessed! The tech is a little behind (my 2013 f150 even has a touch screen) but otherwise the way this car drives and feels is amazing. My daily driver SUV is having issues and I am thinking of replacing it with an E class or S class. 4 matic is important but AMG is not. My SL 450 taught me that even the little engine variants are monsters! It would be my daily driver but I don’t drive much. School pickup and drop off and maybe a monthly 4 hour drive into the office. Rural area 90% of the time with occasional big city (Boston) trips.
I am looking for something maybe off of a lease with low miles and lots of reliable life left. I want to enjoy the pros of MB but without taking the depreciation hit. E class maybe 30k miles. S class I would go into mid 40s maybe to get the price depreciated.
I don’t need the big screens in the new stuff but am also not looking for a 2009 with low miles. So where is the sweet spot for the E and S? And thoughts on E vs S would also be helpful!
Thanks for the advice!
