Bulk Monitoring

Anyone have a solution for monitoring thousands of devices? No problem when it is at the org level, but when I need to check for CRCs or duplex issues ... which requires a serial-level call, it's awful. Takes hours to get all the data given that I am going one device at a time.
I looked at action batching, but I think that is for write operations only?
I can try a massively multi-core/threaded python script, but this seems way overkill if there is a simpler option.
Any help would be appreciated!
