I paid $420 for business coaching and got an hour intake, an hour breakdown of my "weaknesses" and 45 min of hypnosis (to overcome these weaknesses) with a digital copy of our session so I could listen to it at later intervals.
I was constantly being upsold, and told how I was "ill" (based on my initial intake) whenever I explained to the representative that I was uncomfortable with the product. Marketing 101.
Thing is, I never saw myself as ill, I had started my search for a business coach because I am lacking in business skills. When I interviewed this company, I had told them that I had closed my doors because I felt that I needed to heal from burnout and return to college (to further my education). The rep told me that they could save me money, because their program cost less than University.
Anyway, as mentioned above, I took the professional coaching, and have yet to receive one email.
I mean there has been correspondence, but only when they phone and ask me to email, then they can reply. The digital copy I was supposed to receive was 54 seconds long and it was the first part of our conversation: the rattle of our headsets as we put them on.
I have responded to the e-document, requesting that I sign up for the next package, and respectful declined. In fact, in my email I requested that I receive my digital copy, or get $100 back.
I have yet to get an email...
My thoughts are that this company is either very new, and eager to get a sale. So much so that they will take on a client who wants to grow business skill even when they themselves are experiencing technical difficulties, or they are an older company and are doing their best to keep up with the times. Maybe somewhere in-between?
Anyway, I thought I'd ask for advice on how to handle my emotional response.
I'm proud of myself for holding up boundaries, and exhausted because I had to hold up boundaries, lol.
And this rep kept telling me that business coaching had nothing to do with skills. They must be a joke.
