Will psychiatry become obsolete?

So I really want to become a psychiatrist but seeing people so against this field, calling it pill-pushing pseudoscience really worries me. It takes a lot of time and money to become a psychiatrist and im terrified of it being wasted. I want to take pride in my career path and not worry about this.
