Let me explain. I had to take an 8-hour IQ test back in undergrad that was part of ~finally~ getting my ADHD diagnosis. From that, I learned my IQ was in the 130s. It sucked because I knew I had ADHD in high school, but my parents were too 2008 broke to get me tested. So, I never finished the ACT or SAT completely sans accommodations and just dealt the blows with few 5.0s. I went to a fine university, but always knew I could’ve gone somewhere better had I gotten help on time. (At least going to a slightly lesser school got a lot of my school paid for)
Anyway, I’ve never really thought much about bonding over intelligence because most of my friends end up being naturally quite intelligent… but, I suppose I’m wondering if there’s anyone out there with a similar experience to me? i.e. ADHD held back your potential in critical years only to be confirmed through diagnosis and IQ that the system simply wasn’t designed for you
