27 yo M, from north MS originally, about an hour from Memphis. I’ve been living in St Louis for 2.5 years and just got divorced. All of my family at this point is in the Desoto county area, one in Shelby county. I have always enjoyed going to Memphis (most of my experiences were on Beale and the Forum and of course the occasional bass pro run) and have heard the horror stories my whole life, experienced one or two. I seriously have considered moving down and to at least not have to build a social circle completely from scratch and to be around more family & have that support. I haven’t 100% lined up a job or even looked at apartments yet, but I’d like to think i could live pretty comfortably there with a median salary at least while I’m single w/ no kids.

I like STL and I feel like there’s a bit more culture here than I experienced in Memphis but I’m just not sure. I’d like to be able to go out and meet people at bars and what not but I’m primarily into bodybuilding/fitness. I also referee various sports. People who are/have been in the city at my age, do you enjoy it? Do you feel like dating there is good? Is the cost of living doable? I could ask a million questions but just tell me your experience in the city, especially as a young person! Thanks a lot
