some easy solutions. 1. a sensor, similar to a heart rate sensor on a treadmill. connected at the door handle. 2. a motion sensor at the rim of the door. 3. a timer that goes off after about a minute or so. 4. an in app button that lets you close it right there when it reminds you. thats off the top.

hook it to the top. those automatic door openers are not that big. it would be more expensive but really, the fridge is already like 5k. they can just call it another model.
