Micro transactions is what keeps the game alive.
My opinion to your comment is, Next Gen conversion, server maintenance, and profit. They will continue to charge until people stop buying the game.
To go back further, i remember there being an agreement Treyarch would alternate with Sledgehammer games every year. I truthfully lost track after Black Ops 3. I think Activision made WW2.
I stopped buying COD after WW2. The game became too time consuming to unlock skins for multiplayer. Zombies became overwhelming with all the Easter Eggs. The game was overall a great installation but took too much of my time. I don’t game seriously anymore and I play whatever is free on PS that month.
